Privacy Policy for Nonogram Path
Last updated: 11 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile game Nonogram Path ("the App", "we", "us", "our") handles information when you use it on Android or iOS. It applies to players in every country.
We built Nonogram Path to be privacy-friendly: it has no user accounts, asks for no name, email, or password, and works offline. The sections below describe exactly what is and is not processed.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The App is published by Jérôme Dusanter, an independent developer based in France, acting as the data controller.
For any privacy question or request, contact us at: dusanterjerome@gmail.com
2. Quick summary
We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, or any account login.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
Your game progress and settings are stored on your device.
The App generates a random, anonymous player identifier to attribute gameplay statistics and puzzle feedback. It is not linked to your real identity.
If you allow it, the App uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how puzzles are played. Analytics is off by default.
The App is free and shows ads (Google AdMob). You can make a one-time in-app purchase to remove ads.
Puzzle content is downloaded over a secure (HTTPS) connection from our content server.
3. Information we do NOT collect
We want to be clear about what the App never asks for or collects:
No name, email address, phone number, date of birth, or postal address.
No user account, sign-in, or password.
No precise (GPS) location.
No access to your contacts, calendar, photos, files, microphone, or camera.
No health, financial, or biometric data.
The App declares no special device permissions for these features.
4. Information the App processes
a) Data stored on your device
The following is saved locally on your device (using your platform's standard storage) and is not sent to us, except as described under Analytics below:
Your puzzle progress and current game state.
Daily challenge progress and which daily puzzles you have completed.
App settings and preferences.
A randomly generated player identifier (a string of random characters created the first time you open the App). This identifier contains no personal information and is used only as a stable, anonymous handle for gameplay statistics and puzzle feedback.
This data stays on your device. If you uninstall the App or clear its data, it is removed.
b) Analytics (Google Firebase Analytics) — off by default
To understand which puzzles players enjoy and to improve the App, we use Google Firebase Analytics. Analytics collection is disabled by default and is used only where permitted (and, where required by law, after you have given consent).
When analytics is active, the App may send Google the following anonymous events and information:
Puzzle completion events, including the puzzle identifier, its difficulty, and its position in a pack.
Puzzle feedback events (your "like" or "dislike" on a puzzle), including the puzzle identifier and difficulty.
The anonymous player identifier described above.
Standard analytics information automatically collected by Firebase, such as an app-instance identifier, device model, operating system version, language, and approximate (coarse, region-level) location derived from IP address.
These events are not linked to your name or any account, because the App has none. We use this information only in aggregate to improve puzzles and the App.
Google processes this data as described in:
Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Firebase and Privacy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
c) Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App is free and is supported by ads served through Google AdMob. To display and measure ads, Google and its advertising partners may process device and usage information such as:
A device advertising identifier.
IP address and general device information.
Ad interaction data (for example, which ads were shown or clicked).
Personalized ads and consent. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another region that requires it, the App will ask for your consent before any personalized advertising. You can choose non-personalized ads, which still use limited information to show and measure ads but are not based on a profile about you.
You can remove ads entirely with an in-app purchase (see Section 4(e) and the Terms of Use).

d) Content downloads
Puzzle packs and daily challenges are downloaded over a secure (HTTPS) connection from our content server (content.jeromedusanter.com). As with any internet request, our hosting provider may automatically log standard technical information such as your IP address, the time of the request, and the file requested, for security and to operate the service. We do not send any account or personal profile data with these requests, because the App has none. The App also caches content on your device so it can work offline.
e) In-app purchases
The App offers an optional in-app purchase to remove ads. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) depending on your device. We never receive or store your payment card or billing details. The store handles the payment and tells the App only whether the purchase is active, so we can unlock the ad-free experience. Apple's and Google's handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies.
5. Why we process this information and our legal bases
Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, our legal bases are:
Run the game, save your progress, deliver puzzle content — performance of our service to you / legitimate interests in providing a working App.
Show non-personalized ads to keep the App free — legitimate interests.
Show personalized ads — your consent.
Analytics to improve puzzles and the App — your consent (where required) / legitimate interests.
Process your in-app purchase — performance of a contract.
Keep the service secure and prevent abuse — legitimate interests.
You can withdraw any consent at any time (see Section 9).
6. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with service providers that make the App work:
Google (Firebase Analytics and AdMob) — analytics and advertising.
Apple / Google — to process in-app purchases on their stores.
Our hosting/CDN provider — to deliver puzzle content.
These providers process data under their own privacy terms and only to provide their service to us.
7. International data transfers
We are based in France. Our service providers (such as Google and Apple) may process information on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards (for example, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses). By using the App you understand that information may be processed in other countries with different data protection laws.
8. How long we keep information
On-device data (progress, settings, player identifier) stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
Analytics data is retained by Google for a limited period in line with Firebase's data-retention settings and Google's policies.
Advertising data is retained by Google and its partners according to their policies.
9. Your choices and controls
Analytics and personalized ads: You can decline or withdraw consent through the in-app privacy/consent settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out.
Reset your advertising identifier: Android — Settings › Privacy/Security › Ads. iOS — Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking and Apple Advertising.
Limit ad tracking: Use your device's "non-personalized ads" / "do not track" options.
Remove ads: Make the in-app purchase to remove ads.
Delete everything: Uninstalling the App removes the on-device data, including the anonymous player identifier.
10. Your privacy rights
Because the App holds no account and no directly identifying information, we generally cannot link the data we process to a specific person, which may limit our ability to action some requests. Subject to that, you have the following rights.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom (GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. In France, this is the CNIL (https://www.cnil.fr).
If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information for money. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
If you are elsewhere
You may have similar rights under your local law. Contact us and we will do our best to help, consistent with applicable law.
To exercise any right, email dusanterjerome@gmail.com.
11. Children's privacy
Nonogram Path is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it. Where ads are shown, we configure them to be appropriate for a general audience.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect information, including secure (HTTPS) connections for content and reliance on the security of the Apple and Google platforms for purchases. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
13. Third-party services
The App relies on services provided by Google and Apple. Your use of those services is also governed by their privacy policies:
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. If changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice (for example, within the App). Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
15. Contact us
